WHAT SHOULD I KNOW?
- Monthly bill phones require credit approval and a contract.
- You can only get a new phone (at a reduced price) when you're upgrade eligible (out of contract usually) so get the phone you want from the start.
- All carriers have activation fees and your first bill will be prorated for the current month and billed one month in advance plus the activation fee.
- Camera phones are not a replacement for a digital camera, although some of the new higher end ones provide a 2 mega-pixel resolution.
- In order to use a wireless headset pick a phone with Bluetooth.
- Thinking of prepaid because of your light use or age of the user? Keep in mind that if you just use 5 minutes a day with the lowest priced prepaid service you'll still end up paying around $30/month. For that same money you can get a Sprint phone with 200 minutes free (50 more then you used) and unlimited nights & weekends starting at 9PM.
- Even with a security depoist of $150, monthly services are still cheaper then prepaid if you use at least 5 minutes per day.
